Because early liver cancer usually causes no symptoms, regular surveillance for patients who are at higher risk is one of the most effective ways to catch it while it is still treatable.<\/p>\n<h2>Common signs and symptoms<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Often none in the early stages, which is why surveillance matters for at-risk patients<\/li>\n<li>Unexplained weight loss or loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li>Abdominal pain or swelling, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to expect at A Bit of Life Clinic<\/h2>\n<p>If you have cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis or other risk factors, we arrange a structured surveillance program &mdash; typically six-monthly ultrasound and blood tests.
